Apple Music Fans' Choice Award

Get ready everyone...the fun's about to start. Exciting details regarding #CCMAnomday will be announced on Tuesday, July 11, 2017 - but in the meantime, here are some details regarding our 2017 Apple Music Fans' Choice Award, and all the fabulous ways you can vote for your favourite Canadian county music star this year!

The Apple Music Fans' Choice Award is considered by many artists to be the highest accolade in terms of accomplishments because it's chosen by some very important people: the fans. It's the only CCMA Award where the nominees and the winner are determined by Canadian country music fans. 

There are three ways for the Apple Music Fans’ Choice Award in 2017:

1. A dedicated voting website, fanvote.ccma.org, will be set up where nominees can direct fans to cast their vote. In the past, only one vote per email address was allowed. This year, fans are encouraged to vote as many times as they want. When visiting the page, fans can simply click on the photo of their favourite act to cast their vote. Captchas will be set up to avoid any bot voting attempts. ExMachina will collect and verify these votes.

The URL voting portal will be active Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 7:30 p.m. ET through to Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. ET. (which is 6:00 p.m. CT – one hour into the live stream of the 2017 CCMA Awards Show).

2. Apple Music has set up an exciting mechanism to vote through streaming at applemusic.com/CCMAawards. Votes will be plays of nominees’ songs by Apple Music Canada members for a minimum 30 seconds in the Apple Music CCMA Fan’s Choice playlist. Plays less than 30 seconds and plays not through the Apple Music CCMA Fan’s Choice playlist will be excluded. Each artist has a total of two songs in the Apple Music CCMA Fan’s Choice playlist. Every song played over 30 seconds counts as one vote for the corresponding artist, with maximum one vote per song per day per Apple Music member. Apple Music will collect and verify these votes.

The Apple Music voting portal will be active Tuesday, July 11, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. ET through to Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 3:00 a.m. ET.

3. Hashtag voting will be introduced to coincide with PotashCorp Country Music Week. Fans are encouraged to vote for their favourite Apple Music Fans’ Choice nominee by using the appropriate hashtag on Facebook and Twitter. Only one hashtag per post counts as a vote. Retweets count as a vote. Fans can vote as often as they like. ExMachina will collect and verify these votes.

The hashtag voting mechanism will be active Thursday, September 7, 2017 at 12:00 a.m. ET. through to Sunday, September 10, 2017 at 8:00 p.m. ET. (which is 6:00 p.m. CT – one hour into the live stream of the 2017 CCMA Awards Show).
