Also to appear, Lennon & Maisy, the stars of the hit television series, Nashville. The 2014 CCMA Awards Show broadcasts on CBC-TV at 8:00 p.m. local time (8:30 NT) with an encore airing on CMT (Canada) at 10:00 p.m. ET on Sunday, September 7.
“This year’s CCMA Awards Show is full of star power. We’re bringing both familiar and favourite faces of country music stars and personalities to fans across the country,” said Don Green, CCMA President.
Gord Bamford, the CCMA’s most decorated artist in 2013 amassing five of seven awards, kicked off the launch of his 6th studio album "Country Junkie" in October, 2013 with a nation-wide tour with Reba, and earned a 2014 JUNO nomination for Country Album of the Year. The Gold-certified lead single “When Your Lips Are So Close” took only eight weeks to hit #1 on the Country chart in the BDS era, making Bamford the 7th Canadian artist to reach this milestone. Bamford's "Christmas in Canada" CD was also certified Platinum in 2014.
Paul Brandt released the single “Forever Summer” on July 1 of this year; it was the #1 most added song for all radio formats that week, and was Brandt’s highest debut ever on the Billboard Canadian Hot 100 sales chart. “Forever Summer” went to #5 on the iTunes Country Chart on its first day of release. Brandt experienced a career milestone on July 11 when he headlined the Calgary Stampede – the same festival that gave him his musical start 20 years ago. He is the most awarded male Canadian country music artist in history with 8 JUNO Awards and 12 CCMA Awards, among other accolades.
As the 2013 CCMA Fans’ Choice Award winner, Terri Clark is thrilled to be releasing her new album, “Some Songs” on September 2. The album was funded via PledgeMusic and was produced by Jason Aldean’s producer, Michael Cox. Her Canadian tour kicks off on September 17 in Winnipeg. Clark just completed her first year as co-host of “America’s Morning Show” with Blair Garner and Chuck Wicks on over 25 NASH Cumulus radio stations across the U.S. She’ll host the CCMA Holiday Special, airing in December on CBC-TV and CMT (Canada).
Ottawa-born Kira Isabella is one of Canada’s brightest young country music stars, and has toured with the likes of Carrie Underwood and Terri Clark. Her debut album “Love Me Like That” delivered four radio hits including the smash “A Little More Work”. In 2012 Isabella was nominated for a JUNO Award and in 2013 she was crowned Female Artist of the Year at the CCMA Awards, just one year after her win for CCMA Rising Star.
Seven albums into one of country music’s most-respected and most-unpredictable careers, award-winning singer/songwriter Dierks Bentley continues to grow. His latest evolution comes in the form of his critically acclaimed album “RISER”. The albumfeatures the hit song “Drunk On A Plane” which is currently climbing the Country radio charts. His six previous studio albums have sold more than five million copies worldwide, notched 6 chart-topping singles in Canada and earned 11 GRAMMY nominations, countless CMA, ACM and CMT nominations and membership at the Grand Ole Opry.
The CCMA is proud to welcome Lennon and Maisy Stella to this year’s CCMA Awards Show. The girls, 14 and 10 years old, respectively, were born in Oshawa, ON, but now reside in Nashville, TN. They grew up in a musical family with their parents, Brad and MaryLynne, who are the musical duo known as The Stellas. Lennon and Maisy began starring in the ABC drama Nashville in October 2012.
Eight CCMA Awards will be given out on the 2014 CCMA Awards Show. Tickets are available at all Ticketmaster locations, by phone at 1-855-985-5000 or online at ticketmaster.ca. Ticket prices range from $67.25 to $107.25, plus service charges.
