Now Hiring: Communications Coordinator (Summer Student) for the CCMA

POSITION: Communications Coordinator (Summer Student)
ROLE OVERVIEW
The Canadian Country Music Association (CCMA) is looking to hire a Summer Student specializing in communications.
This positon will primarily be responsible for assisting the CCMA Communications Lead with all communications associated with Country Music Week and other CCMA programs. The position best suits candidates with an upbeat and flexible attitude with a desire to work in a small, fast-paced not-for-profit environment that demands a team player approach.
The successful candidate will be required to travel to Halifax, Nova Scotia for Country Music Week 2015 from September 7, 2015 to September 14, 2015.
This contracted term position is from May 4, 2015 to September 14, 2015 and is located in downtown Toronto, Ontario. The candidate MUST be presently attending post-secondary school and planning to return to school in the fall of 2015.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The position’s responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Maintain current database of Canadian country radio contacts
- Manage and maintain a media tracking system for CCMA coverage
- Manage contest fulfillment packages
- Coordinate the preparation and distribution of media releases and CCMA member announcements and other communications deliverables
- Execute social media communications plan while engaging and tracking followers and interactions
- Coordinate the assembly and distribution of media kits and press materials
- Research, fact check and gather communications materials as needed
- Assist with the research, development and implementation of social media materials
- Respond to and track requests for donations
- Assist with media relations and communications at events prior to and during Country Music Week
- Professionally and effectively interface with members, media, key stakeholders and the public
- General duties and administration
QUALIFICATIONS
The candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Working towards a diploma in communications, public relations or music management; and returning to school in the fall of 2015
- Comfortable and confident with all social media platforms
- Professional written and verbal communications skills
- Working knowledge of Canadian media landscape
- Ability to multitask and effectively manage duties as assigned
- Ability to work well in a team environment with constantly shifting priorities
- Proven ability to work with confidential information
- Strong attention to detail and above average organizational skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
