June 3, 2015 (Toronto, ON) – The talent for the second of three CCMA Songwriters’ Showcases, On the Road to Halifax, was revealed today by the Canadian Country Music Association® (CCMA®), in association with Music Nova Scotia and the Country Music Week 2015 Halifax Host Committee. “One of our goals is to foster growth in our music industry,” said Country Music Week Halifax Host Committee Chair, Stacey Jones-Oxner. “We are passionate about leveraging opportunities across the province for local artists to get in front of audiences, and share their sound and stories.”

Mark Cameron
Singing and songwriting was always a hobby Mark Cameron kept to himself, until a cross-country trip inspired him to start sharing what he was working on with others. It wasn’t long after that trip that Cameron released his first original song, and lined up shows and festival appearances. From there, he embarked on another journey, this time to Nashville. The result: his 2012 album, Just The Way You Like It. Cameron has now released three national singles and appeared on the CMT Canada series, Big In A Small Town.

Jason Price
It all started when Jason Price bought a second-hand guitar to teach his kids that if you stick to what you start, you will get better, and be rewarded. In less than a year, he played his first live performance, wrote his first song, performed in a sold-out show and made his television debut on CTV's Christmas Daddies. From there, he began hosting a weekly acoustic open mic night where he continues to hone his skills. He’s now the front man of his own band, has performed at multiple venues and festivals and won both the Canada Day Idol competition in Dartmouth, NS, and the Frank Spinney Talent Show in Wolfville, NS, among other accolades.
